Following my last post about surrounding yourself with positive friends for the law of attraction to work, I came upon Dr Ben Kim’s personal observations and advice about protecting your health from toxic behavior.
He defined human toxicity as people who make you feel bad on a regular basis. Specific examples of toxic behavior include slandering you, screaming at you and spending the greater part of your conversations complaining about others. Know anyone like that? I’m sure you do.
Well, this people are to be avoided at all cost.
I remember having friends like that especially in my days working in the office. Colleagues and friends who were nice but who became jealous if I am perceived to do better than them. Maybe I’ve done something to annoy them too. I’ve always felt surprised as I’ve never intentionally wanted to compete. But since gotton to know about their negative feelings towards me, I’ve avoided them ever since. Let’s just say that we are no longer on speaking terms.
As I write this, I still feel the tingle of pain. The initial joy of friendship which turned sour eventually. Now, as I understand things better and delve into the law of attraction, I realized that I’ve done the right thing. To stay on course, it is important that I am well. And to be well, I need to be surrounded by positive energy.
Even after avoiding these friends, I continue to wish them well. I would often flip The Singapore Business Times, trying to finding out if they are being talked about or being interviewed in the papers. They should be among the highest echelons of the financial community here in Singapore right now. There is nothing for them to compare against me right now. I am a WAHM who prize her flexibility, being with her kids and her personal wellness more than moving up the corporate ladder.
