@Robert, I faced the same issues with restlessness to a greater extent previously. I realise now that a major part has been due to my lack of commitment to meditation. Once I made the decision to be committed, I allocate time and make it a priority. Thoughts for scheduling activities are set aside for later consideration.

It is also important to choose times like close to bedtime or to wake up slightly earlier for the practice.

All the best,
Evelyn

Hi Evelyn, it's a very thoughtful article.
What relates to me very much is the restlessness, it's hard for me to take time to meditate and pray when I'm rushed to complete things following things. For me meditation is something like a conversation with God, when it's the time for us to listen to Him.

Great message,
Robert

You might want to know that jrenthusiast posted exactly the same comment on Wildmind, as well as on many other blogs. It's just a clever piece of spam, I'm afraid.

Hello JREnthusiast, I've not read James Ray's book although I've heard about it. Good, aye? I'd go check it out. Thanks for the links!

I'm wondering if there is a way when you can set a timer for your audio track to turn down the volume gradually. I've not used audio to induce meditation before because personally I don't like the idea. I prefer complete silence.

Hey everyone. I'm really interested in learning more about meditation. I just read James Ray's book Harmonic Wealth and have been practicing his four categories of meditation: Focusing/Visualization, Listening/Watching, Static Transcendence, and Mobile Transcendence. He lists a bunch of ways to access each category in his book (page 309), but I'm still having some issues. I have listened to some meditation DVDs in the past and have been able to get into that space pretty easily, but I'm having a much harder time focusing in on my own. Any tips for how to tune in without the help of an audio track?
I plan on attending Quantum Leap in the fall, so hopefully he'll teach me some more techniques there, but I'd really like to keep meditating before then and make some progress. If you are interested, check out his website: www.jamesray.com or www.harmonicwealth.com.

Evelyn,

Nice post. Controlling our senses is the key to the life of simplicity. Most sensuous desires propel us towards bad behavior. Meditation certainly helps in that regards as I practice meditation for about 30 mins everyday.
